This is a great dash cam, with only one draw back, I doesn't have a battery so no ability to record when parked. it must be connected to power to work, which meant wiring in an always on power source in my car with battery protection as to not drain the cars starter battery. With so many 'accidents' happening when you're parked this should be addressed in future models.
One minor issue I have had is sometimes the gesture controls slow to respond or not working at all, it still records but just doesn't do the protected 10 second clips. Only solution is to use the app to fix it.
I now have 2 of these installed in my car, front and rear.
Overall the best dash camera I've had in my car, but looses one star because of these issues.
I brought the r40 Dash Cam as for price it seemed a very good buy but i am more than pleased with the performance ease of usage and ability to review footage on my phone. I'm also very pleased with the G sensor ability to ensure recordings are saved, luckily i haven't needed this ability yet as no minor accidents. Being small and compact it hides very well behind my rear view mirror so doesn't effect my line of sight in any direction thru the windscreen. Overall i couldn't be happier with this.
